The organizers of the Green Hydrogen Summit Oman (GHSO) have now opened up online access to the high-profile event, without the registration fee, to a broad segment of interested individuals with a stake in supporting a clean energy future for Oman and the wider world, Oman Observer reports.

GHSO, the nation’s premier international forum on green energy, is set to be held at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center (OCEC), Muscat, from November 29 to December 1, 2021. The three-day forum, taking place in a hybrid format, has been organized by Oman-based Birba Energy Services.

Now, to enable complete access to this landmark forum to current and future energy professionals, online attendance is free for, among others, students, academics, researchers, scientists, entrepreneurs, innovators, and other individuals eager to make the most of this exciting event. This gesture has been made possible by generous funding support from several key sponsors and patrons of the forum, the organizers said in a press statement.

Abdullah al Harthy, Chairman – Birba Energy Services, commented: “In response to popular calls for this strategically vital national forum to be opened up to a wider audience of energy professionals, individuals from outside the corporate world can attend online without the specified registration fee. This gesture comes courtesy of sponsorship assistance provided by our esteemed partners Oman LNG and Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) in particular and OQ, Shell Development Oman, TotalEnergies, and Petrofac, among others. Our sincere gratitude to all our patrons for their support.”

However, to support the delivery of a high-quality event, business leaders and corporate executives must pay a modest registration fee for either online or in-person attendance. Interested delegates (online or in-person) are requested to register via Green hydrogen summit site.

GHSO, held under the auspices of the Ministry of Energy and Minerals, brings together high-level representatives of energy companies, regional and international energy groupings, and energy industry thought-leaders and decision-makers from across the world. Also taking part will be ministerial delegations from several countries in the Arabian Gulf, Europe, and the Far East – all seeking to make common cause in the quest to accelerate the development of new, sustainable energy resources that will address pressing climate challenges as well.

The signature event attracted sponsorship support from a wide array of prestigious organizations from Oman and abroad. The line-up includes Oman LNG (Host Sponsor), Petroleum Development Oman and OQ (Main Sponsors), Oman Shell, TotalEnergies and Port of Sohar (Platinum Sponsor), Petrofac (Diamond Sponsor), Siemens Energy, Salalah Free Zone (Gold Sponsor), Port of Duqm, Majis, TUV SUD, ABB, ONEIC, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Sohar Aluminium and Worley (as Silver Sponsors), and OTTCO and Linde, G Energy (as Session Sponsors).

Backing the event as Associate Partners are the International Energy Agency (IEA), the German Emirati Joint Council for Industry & Commerce (AHK), and Desert Energy (Dii). Oman Society of Petroleum Services (OPAL) and AUSDE have signed on as Supporters.

In conjunction with the Summit, a series of Masterclass Workshops focusing on key aspects of the green hydrogen economy will be held as well.
