The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME), represented by the Department of Protection and Wildlife, has recorded a violation against a company for transporting construction filling materials without obtaining an environmental license, The Peninsula Qatar reports.
The necessary legal measures have been taken against the violator to preserve the environment of Qatar, said the Ministry in a statement. The Ministry stressed the importance of adhering to environmental requirements and preserving natural resources.
The action was taken within the Department of Protection and Wildlife’s efforts for preserving the environment.
The Department is concerned with monitoring and protecting wild and marine life in the country, developing and implementing plans for its protection, in coordination with the competent authorities.
It also catches environment-related violations on land, marine, and those committed by livestock farms locally called (Al Adhab). The violators are referred to the authorities concerned.
The Department monitors quarries and crushers to curb the violations related to obtaining prior permits for the extraction and transportation of construction filling materials and removing the causes of these violations in coordination with the competent authorities.
