Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Oil, met virtually with Dr. Fereidun Fesharaki, Conference Vice President in the presence of Faihan Mohammed Al Faihani, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, to discuss programmes and activities related to the events of the 29th Annual Middle East Petroleum and Gas Conference (MPGC 2022).
Held under the patronage of the Minister of Oil on 24-25 January 2022, MPGC 2022 is organized by the conference connection company in cooperation with the Ministry of Oil, and the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), BNA states.
On this occasion, the Minister of Oil expressed his sincere gratitude to hold this important conference. As this conference will be held physically in its 29th edition, which will be an opportunity to highlight the reality and future of the oil and gas industry in the region and the world, and the mechanisms to achieve the balance of energy markets in light of the challenges arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The minister stressed that the Kingdom of Bahrain is keen to organise and host this type of specialised events and conferences, because of its reputation in strengthening the kingdom’s position, and benefiting from it in supporting the economic movement and attracting more investments. He wished the conference success in achieving its objectives, thereby enhancing international and local efforts in the development of the energy industry.
The Minister pointed out that the world oil markets are witnessing global challenges and pressures aimed at shifting to clean energy, and attracting many environmentally friendly oil projects that are an environmentally responsible source of energy in order to reduce carbon emissions and combat environmental pollution. Noting that the GCC countries have adopted a number of environmental initiatives that contribute strongly to achieving the global goals of providing a balanced and sustainable nature for all.
During the meeting, the Minister of Oil was briefed on the arrangements for the 29th edition of MPGC 2022, which will bring together a group of executives, heads of global oil and gas companies, senior government officials, policymakers, global oil traders, energy experts, analysts and leading energy organisations. As they will discuss important topics such as energy markets, Middle East Trading & Pricing Transformation, LNG Trading Outlook, future fuels and Energy transition, The Changing Refining Landscape: Another Golden Age and many topics of interest in the oil sector.
At the end of the meeting, Dr. Fereidun Fesharaki thanked the Minister of Oil, for his continued support and valuable guidance, which has contributed to the success of the conference in its previous edition last year. He also thanked the Ministry of Oil and Bapco for the support of the conference, which will contribute to the success of this global event, in addition to the support of a number of international companies specialized in this field such as Saudi Aramco, Shell, Samsung Energy, Kepler and other international companies.
