Microsoft founder Billionaire Bill Gates believes that by mid-2022, mortality and morbidity of COVID-19 may fall below the level of seasonal flu. This will happen if new dangerous strains do not appear by then.
Gates stated this at the Bloomberg New Economy Forum in Singapore.
He noted that natural and vaccine immunity, as well as the creation of oral drugs, will help to improve the situation.
“Mortality and morbidity rates should fall sharply,” Gates said.
According to Gates, the vaccination issue in the world after COVID-19 will be different next year, as supply problems will be resolved and replaced by questions about how to distribute them all logistically.
“Vaccines are excellent news, and supply constraints will be largely addressed. When we hit the market in the middle of next year, we will be constrained by logistics and demand,” Gates said in a virtual interview with Bloomberg.
Gates said that it is unclear what the level of demand in many countries, especially in places such as sub-Saharan Africa.
